I funerali di Totò Schillaci a Palermo. Beppe Bergomi: "Un ricordo? Il gol con l'Austria nel '90"

The funeral of Totò Schillaci, former striker for Juventus, Inter Milan, and especially the Italian national team, was held on the morning of Friday, September 20th, in Palermo Cathedral. He became a symbol of the team during the 1990 World Cup, which was played in Italy. A large crowd gathered to pay their last respects to the footballer, who died at the age of 59 from colon cancer. A large group of Palermo ultras were also present, chanting Schillaci's name both as he entered and exited the cathedral. Among his former teammates and national teammates was Beppe Bergomi, who, among his memories of the late striker, cited "the goal against Austria because then he turned the corner and came to hug me on that side, where I was too. That remains most in my memory, in my eyes. But he's the person I like to highlight."
