I test drove the 2.5 GDI model of the Kia K7 Premier, which many are interested in. The 2.5 Smartstream engine, which replaces the existing 2.4 engine, is a new engine that combines direct and port injection depending on the situation. Compared to the 2.4, it boasts slightly increased power and torque, along with improved fuel economy. As seen in the 3.0, quietness and ride quality have been significantly improved, and the semi-autonomous driving performance has become more refined. The 2.5 offers nearly all the same advanced safety and convenience features as the 3.0. The price is a bit of a concern, and the lack of an optional Krell audio system is a bit of a disappointment. Still, if you could enjoy everything the 3.0 offers without major differences, wouldn't you choose the 2.5?
