Two centers in Marburg and Essen specialize in undiagnosed and rare diseases. Is a cure possible? Professor Jürgen Schäfer, for example, from the Center for Undiagnosed and Rare Diseases (ZusE) in Marburg, is working to help people with mysterious illnesses. Professor Schäfer is known as a "doctor who thinks outside the box" and, together with his team, discovers causes of illnesses that no one else has considered. Ole passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in May 2018 from a severe infection. Our deepest condolences go to his parents and his brother, Ben.
