NVG, 68 Raising Day celebration at New Pangsha Golden Jubilee Memorial hall 2025 The 68th Raising Day of the Nagaland Village Guard (NVG) was celebrated at Pangsha village under Noklak district on March 1, 2025 under the theme “The Guardian of the frontier village”. Dr. Mukem Shio, Commandant NVG, Tuensang grace the event as guest of honour. March 1st is celebrated as the "Raising Day" for the Nagaland Village Guards. Early Name: Initially called "Tuensang Frontier Scouts" when the organization was first formed. Purpose: The Village Guards were established to protect villages, maintain law and order, and assist the district administration in maintaining peace.
