#PierreBourne opens up about his yearn to always sound different and not switch up his style, despite the copycat soundscape we’re in, as advised by ASAP Rocky, someone he considers a big brother and takes serious advice from. The man and mind behind the #TLOP series, Pi’erre knows that he and the artists he broke through with are trendsetters and is not phased by someone who copies him, but expresses that it’s the rappers’ fault who use “type beats” influencing this approach, agreeing that it dwindles the overall creative and financial ecosystem of the music business. Bourne highlights that Playboi Carti’s self-titled album, specifically the huge cuts ‘Magnolia’ and ‘wokeuplikethis*’, created a ripple effect in the current Rap sound. Pi’erre Bourne gives us an insight into his “boring” personal life in contrast to the “cap” rap game he’s surrounded by, emphasising mentally preparing himself for going on the road and staying hungry, pushing his triple threat brand of Engineer/Producer/Artist. He expresses the frustrations of blowing up as a Producer first, which halts his Artist mission at times. He hopes to rework all the solo material he’s ever made, including previous TLOP editions and unreleased stuff.
