How to Fix Dents and Paint a Junkyard Ford Tailgate | 1995 Ford F150

In this video, I show you how to take a junkyard tailgate, strip it of parts, strip the paint off, fill dents with body filler, sand everything smooth, 2k epoxy prime the bare steel and body filler, sand the epoxy primer, then do several coats of urethane primer, do the final sanding, and then paint the tailgate with color base coat. Finally, I wrap up the video with three cans of 2k clear coat. All the painting and other restorative work is done without an air compressor. I use only aerosol cans for the painting. I sourced all the products from either Amazon or Eastwood. A few minor bits, like the tack rag, scuff pads, aircraft stripper, and self etch primer were sourced locally from hardware stores or auto parts stores. The project is my 1995 Ford F150 XL 2wd 8 foot bed. The tailgate was dented and rusted from the previous owner.
