A Behind the Scenes Look At Disney Engineering Projects | Stormalong Bay Pool Refurbishment

This past year, the iconic Stormalong Bay feature pool at the Beach and Yacht Club resorts underwent a six month refurbishment. That meant that for six months, this pool was entirely closed off to guests. So how does Disney actually execute these refurbishment projects? What is their process to close the pool, notify guests, and finish that construction as fast as possible? Well...we got a look behind the curtain when we interviewed the Disney team responsible for this project! And of course, it wouldn't be a Mouselets Monday if I didn't first do a deep dive (obviously). So dive in with us to the history of swimming in the Vacation Kingdom. It started with days out on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake, which was the choice activity for many guests. And after close to 25 years, swimming in the lakes was phased out and the focus at Disney became pools.
