Installing a rv window is an exciting job. Especially if you don't get a manual from the manufacturer. In this video of our Fiat Ducato Campervan build series we are going to install the side window of the brand Wamovo. The video goes through all the steps necessary to install a rv window yourself. We explain how to install a motorhome window. And in addition, the timelapse slows down at important moments. We do this so we can install a window. Before we start sawing in the side of the bus, we first remove the truss. This truss has virtually no load-bearing function, but ensures that the body of the bus retains its curve. That's why we move it to the side afterwards and don't throw it away. Then we make a template out of cardboard and draw the dimensions on the inside of the metal. After we are sure about the measurements we start with drilling a number of holes. After this we can start sawing the hole with the jigsaw. I started sawing on the inside of the bus, but soon found out that the thick truss to the right of the hole was in the way while cutting. I sawed the last piece on the outside of the bus, but not before I had covered everything with some tape, to prevent scratches. After filing and sanding, we treated the open metal with metal paint. Then I made a spruce wooden frame of 30mm thick (1.1811 ″). The wooden frame around the hole on the inside glued with polyfix. While installing the camper window, I found out that the wooden frame was just a bit too thick. So I made 5mm (13/64 ″) cutouts with a multi-tool. Before the window went in, we applied a thick layer around the edge with butyl sealant. The installation kit that is supplied could now be screwed on. The installation kit consists of clips with screws that ensure that the window is pushed in from the outside. This keeps it firmly in place. Finally, we placed the supplied curtain and insect screen. We are very satisfied with the glass window from Wamovo in our campervan. Too bad it didn't come with a manual, but hopefully this video will explain enough to do this yourself. Good luck!
