#鎮台之寶 #對茄子別具意義 #終於完成全程拍攝 Date: 9 January, 2024 Departure: 1110 Arrival: 1218 Here we go! This is Sha Tau Kok (STK), an area close to the boundaries between Hong Kong and mainland China. The area remains close to most people until recently when Phase II Opening Programme for STK Frontier Closed Area is in effect from 1 January, 2024. 700 tour group travellers and 300 individual travellers are allowed to enter the area upon successful application to a permit. Back in 1898, Second Convention of Peking was signed between Qing China and the UK. Under the convention, northern part of Kowloon and the area now known as the New Territories was leased to the UK for 99 years. STK was divided into two, separated by STK River and Chung Ying Street. The area became a closed area and remained open only to local residents. The first thing to notice when entering STK area is the colourful blocks of houses. Residents of STK are farmers and fishermen. Sha Tau Kok Chuen, an public housing estate, was built to resettle the residents. These blocks collectively are parts of Sha Tau Kok Chuen. Individual tourists, with valid permit, may only visit STK by public transport. Make sure you have the required documents ready for inspection upon alighting the bus or minibus. There may not be a lot to do in the area. Follow our footsteps and we will show you around in the area. It is a nice place with nice people and a peaceful environment.
