Using the Router Plane. Spar Part iii
Episode 7. Routing For Doublers. Using the Router Plane… Last time we marked up all the spars and cut all the tapers at the wingtip ends. This time we’re cutting the shallow rebates at the wing root end. This will allow us to fit “doublers”. These are thin sheets of aero plywood. They toughen up that area as quite a few bolts have to be tightened against it. Tools used in this episode are the Lie Nielsen No 71 Router Plane and the No 140 Skew Block Plane.
