Vauxhall / Opel Insignia Grand Sport 2017 Review | Driver's Seat

We've been testing the second-generation Vauxhall Insignia which has a new name, look and engines. The Insignia Grand Sport is longer, lower and lighter than the car it replaces and gets a more four-door coupe profile. There's a choice of seven engines and seven trim levels. The three petrol engines available consist of two versions of a 1.5-litre and a 2.0-litre with 260PS which gets all-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. On the diesel front, you can choose from two outputs of a 1.6 CDTI and two versions of a 2.0 CDTi with the more powerful 210PS version getting all-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. In the most economical form, the Insignia will return 70.6mpg and emit 105g/km of CO2. Choose between Design, Design Nav, SRI, SRI Nav, SRI VX-Line Nav, Tech Line Nav and Elite Nav trims. Prices start from £17,185. We're testing the 1.5-litre 165PS in SRI Nav trim with a six-speed manual gearbox, which costs from £20,080.
