World Championship Winning Flies: Luboš Roza's Pink Tag Euro Nymph

Luboš Roza's Pink Tag Euro Nymph is one of his go-to patterns. While it excels as a grayling pattern in the fall and winter months, don't overlook this fly for trout. Truly, it is one of those flies that will perform on any river, for any species. What makes this euro nymph so effective is its overall dark profile combined with the silver flash of the bead and wire. Then, the hint of pink for the tail really brings it all to life. We especially like this fly in dark conditions, whether that be turbid water or a cloudy, rainy day. It's a fly that Luboš always has in his nymph box, and it quickly became one that we do as well. We have a hunch it'll be the case for you, too. You can fish it larger and heavier as a point fly, or tie it small and light to use on your tag. If you don't yet know him, Luboš Roza is one of the most talented fly anglers in the word. He's a two time Youth Fly Fishing World Champion, and holds the record for the youngest person ever to win an Adult European Championship at age 20. In 2014, he also became a World Champion, winning in the Czech Republic. He is also an excellent fly tyer, and fly designer. He is a true master of his craft.
