Which Country Has the Most Central Capital?
A capital city is usually where a country’s government is based. So it feels reasonable to assume that, to govern effectively, a capital should be placed near the center of the country. But is that really the case? Using geospatial data and a bit of math, I explored how capital cities are positioned relative to the shape of their countries. Some results are expected, but others are surprisingly counter-intuitive. So which capitals are closest to the center?
