Trautenau und das Riesengebirgsvorland (gesamter Film)

The film tells the story and development of the relations between Germans and Czechs in the Trutnov region. After a historical overview, it explores the social and cultural life of the people who lived and still live in the region. Here, there were many specialists who, unlike the German-speaking population in other parts of the country, were allowed to remain in their homeland. Even today, in Žacléř, one in ten inhabitants has German roots. This is why the old dialect has been preserved. Meanwhile, interest in the region's history is growing on the Czech side as well, and there is active cooperation between German and Czech associations. The film presents the fates, life stories, and joint projects of Czechs and Germans. At the same time, it introduces interesting people who are committed to preserving the region's cultural heritage.
