CLD Visuals is a new space within Cold Loop Department: a series of short audiovisual pieces imagining real interstellar objects based on what is known — or believed — about them. Evocative images, possible worlds, and the characteristic ambient electronic sound of CLD. CFBDSIR 2149-0403 is a rogue planetary-mass object drifting alone through space, without orbiting a star. Although it could be imagined as a completely frozen and lifeless world, its nature appears more ambiguous: an isolated, dark and cold body, yet still capable of retaining and emitting part of its own internal heat. This piece imagines that contrast as a black-ice planet, crossed by glowing fissures in the darkness of interstellar space. Music and visuals created with the help of AI tools.
