On the "Paris - Amsterdam" tour, we visited the Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois cemetery, an hour's drive south of Paris. After the tour, walk, and conversation, I was short on time. But I couldn't resist snapping at least a few photos of this place. "The unremarkable town of Sainte-Geneviève, Not just any Genevieve—the Forest, the "des bois." (c) For me, this is one of the most difficult and most important excursions. Here lie those who came from Russia as a result of the first, second, and third waves of emigration of the 20th century—White Guards, military cadets, writers, ballerinas, poets. Here are Bunin, Teffi, Kshesinskaya, Lifar, Nureyev, Galich, Tarkovsky... We remember them, but think about today... I really hope I managed to find the right tone.
