Charli XCX - "I want to make a pop record with substance"
The last few years have seen Hertfordshire's Charli XCX emerge as one of the country's most unabashed new pop stars. The singer -- who recently came off tour with Coldplay, and will release her debut album later this year -- has no time for those who think that pop's a dirty word, as she explained when FACT caught up with her before a small East London show last week. And why should she? Inventive from the start, she's collaborated with dance producers Alex Metric and Starkey, and has enjoyed a run of singles that stars with ten times her profile would envy. Her world; we're just living in it. Film by Kamil Dymek, Pawel Ptak, Interview by Clare Considine
