Anadil ve Milliyetçilik: Kürtçe Deneyimi

In this talk, Lal Laleş focuses on the linguistic and intellectual construction of Kurdish. While examining the challenges this construction faces due to nationalist pressures, she also examines the alternative forms of resistance Kurdish has developed against the policies of denial and rejection it has been subjected to across the vast geography where it is spoken. Lal Laleş: Poet, translator, editor. Born in 1975 in Kızıltepe, Mardin. Graduated from the History Department of Dicle University. She has worked as a dramaturge, director, and artistic director for independent theater groups such as Tiyatro Anadolu, İmgesel Düşler, and Teatre Orient. She compiled her poems written in the Kurmancî dialect of Kurdish in the book Berbejna Rê (Road Armlet). She has presented papers on modern Kurdish poetry, Kurdish literature, and Kurdish publishing in Turkey and Europe. She is the editor-in-chief of Lîs Publishing in Diyarbakır and the founder of the Diyarbakır Literature House.
