Microsoft's Research Agent Now Uses TWO AI Models at Once! This is a Game Changer

The Copilot Research Agent was already impressive. But this update takes it somewhere properly interesting, you can now run GPT and Claude together in the same research task and compare what they each come up with. Here's everything I cover in this video: 🔍 What's New in the Research Agent Two big new options have landed (some still in the Frontier Program, so check your tenant): ⚙️ Critique Mode: GPT Researches, Claude Reviews GPT does the deep research first. Then Claude steps in and validates the output, checking sources, evidence, completeness, how well it's grounded. You get one final report that's been through two models before it reaches you. Think of it as a built-in second opinion baked into the workflow. 🤝 Model Council:Two Reports, One Comparison Table This is the one that really caught my attention. You type one prompt, and both GPT and Claude go off and do the research independently. You get two separate reports, one from each, plus a comparison table that shows you exactly where they agree and where they differ. In my demo, GPT estimated a 14km average commute, Claude said 12km. Annual fuel cost estimates were €2,200 vs €796. That kind of difference matters when you're making a real decision. 💡 Pro Tip:Use Copilot Chat to Write Your Research Prompt The Research Agent gives you 25 prompts per month, so make them count. Before you go into Researcher, ask Copilot Chat to help you build a really thorough prompt based on what you want to investigate. That's exactly what I did for this video and the difference in output quality is noticeable. 📊 How to Track Your Usage There's no official usage counter but if you click into your Research Agent history, you can see every prompt you've run with timestamps. That's your best way to keep track of where you are against your monthly limit. If you do any kind of business research, competitive analysis, or strategic planning, this is worth knowing about. Drop a comment with what you'd use the Research Agent for and I might build a workflow around it. Please Like & Subscribe for more Copilot updates coming every week as they land :-)
