出雲市の商店街で大規模火災 発生から鎮圧まで カメラでとらえた現場(島根)
Almost a full day has passed since the large-scale fire broke out in the center of Izumo City on the night of June 24th. More than 15 buildings were damaged. We look back at the scene as captured by TSK's cameras as the fire spread. This is the fire scene the morning after it broke out in the "Sun Road Nakamachi" shopping street in Imaichi-cho, Izumo City. Shohei Fukumura, Reporter: Where did the large-scale fire start? The scene was a shopping street located about 400 meters from JR Izumo City Station. It is a densely populated area with restaurants, shops, and residences, and the damage extended over a considerable area. It is estimated that 15 to 20 buildings were destroyed, mainly on the south side of the shopping street's main thoroughfare. Two firefighters who were fighting the fire complained of feeling unwell and were taken to the hospital by ambulance. We look back at the large-scale fire in the city center through video footage. The fire broke out around 7:30 PM on the 23rd, when a nearby resident reported to the fire department that "black smoke was billowing from the second floor of the building." An hour later, at 8:30 PM, the TSK reporting team arrived at the scene. We began our coverage from this location, about 100 meters from the suspected source of the fire. Reporter Kime Tabuchi: Although the full extent of the damage wasn't visible due to the building in front, we could see that the sky was stained red over a wide area, indicating that the fire had already spread to multiple buildings. Thirty minutes later, at 9:00 PM, we moved to a high building that offered a panoramic view of the scene. Photographer Takashi Noda: The fire shows no signs of weakening. We can see fierce flames. It appears the fire has spread to the neighboring house. Intense flames are erupting. The damage is spreading rapidly. In less than two hours since the fire started, the entire area was engulfed in flames… Photographer Takashi Noda: From here, we can see that more than four houses are on fire. Reporter Kime Tabuchi: More than five houses are burning within our view. Furthermore, the situation is worsening. Flame columns are rising, and the speed of the fire's spread is rapidly increasing. Police/Fire Department: Please get down. We are extending the cordon further. Please leave this parking lot. Please go from that side. The fire is spreading, and the fire department is setting up a cordon. The reporting team continues their coverage from a safe location. Amidst the strenuous firefighting efforts, a notable feature was the high-altitude water cannon, capable of spraying water from atop a ladder. And then, four and a half hours after the fire started, at 12:30 AM on the 24th, the date changed. The reporting team moved to a location overlooking the scene. After ensuring their safety, they continued their coverage. Even after midnight, the fire's intensity did not subside. Police: It is dangerous, please leave the area. The fire began to subside around 2:00 AM. Then, about 10 hours after it started, just before 6:00 AM, the fire department declared the fire "under control," stating that there was no possibility of it spreading further. This fire destroyed more than 15 buildings. Approximately 50 people in Izumo City were evacuated at one point, spending a restless night. One person who evacuated said: "I was worried, I was in an unfamiliar place, and the ground was hard, so I couldn't sleep." The next morning, the fire seemed to have subsided, but… Shohei Fukumura, reporter: (Around 9:30 AM) It seemed to have gone out, but then flames and black smoke reappeared. It reignited in places and continued to smolder even on the afternoon of the 24th. Even now, it has not yet been completely extinguished.
