⟪Netherlands⟫ "Nederland" in english "Netherlands" is one of the constituent countries of the "Kingdom of the Netherlands" in Dutch "Koninkrijk der Nederlanden" It is located northwest of continental Europe, bordered by Germany to the east, and Belgium to the south, with a North Sea coastline to the north and west. It shares maritime borders with the United Kingdom, Germany and Belgium in the North Sea. The Netherlands is the 16th most densely populated country in the world and the second most densely populated country in the European Union, with a population of 17.7 million people. Its capital is Amsterdam; however, the organization and administration of the Kingdom is located in The Hague, being the official seat of the monarchy, as well as its executive, legislative and judicial authorities. ⟪National Anthem⟫ "Het Wilhelmus" in English "The William" also known as "Wilhelmus van Nassouwe" in English "William of Nassau" or simply "Wilhelmus" in English "William" is the national anthem of the Netherlands and the Kingdom of the Netherlands official since 1932 and 1954 respectively. The text was written around 1570 at the start of the Eighty Years' War over an existing melody, making it the oldest national anthem in use today, provided the latter is defined as consisting of a melody and lyrics. It speaks of the Father of the Nation William of Orange who was stadtholder in the Netherlands under the King of Spain.
