Investigator Details Phone Record Evidence In Young Dolph Murder Plot

Memphis Police Department Sgt. Jesse Browning investigated the Nov. 17, 2021, murder of rapper Adolph "Young Dolph" Thornton Jr., and he testified today (Tuesday, August 19, day 2) in the trial of Hernandez Govan, who is accused of ordering the murder through Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith. Browning testified about phone records and how they were analyzed as part of the investigation. Assistant District Attorney Iris Williams questioned him in direct--examination. Prosecutors say Govan masterminded Dolph's November 2021 fatal shooting inside Makeda’s Homemade Cookies in Memphis as part of a feud between his record label, Paper Route Empire, and Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group.
