Scandals repeatedly rock show jumping: doping, ointments to make horses' legs more sensitive to pain, or other unsafe training methods. Are these isolated cases, or is this the norm in show jumping? Scandals that belong to the past? Our research shows: Some training methods that cause pain to horses seem to be irreversible. We also spoke with a former show jumping professional who himself used unsafe methods, as well as with veterinarian Dr. Andreas Franzky, who puts the whole thing into perspective from a medical perspective.
