Northeastern Brazilian culture has been forged over the centuries by events that sometimes resemble a cinematic series. These are struggles, epic battles, facing climatic adversities, adventure, courage, and encounters between peoples with different worldviews that have blended into a history rich in extremely significant moments. The resilience, faith, and adaptability of the Northeastern people gain a new understanding when we look at the history of the formation of this people. The construction of the first cities, the Dutch invasion, the occupation of the hinterland, for example, have historical details that, once understood, are capable of illuminating our understanding of what the deep Brazil is. The roots of a people strongly influenced by the culture of the Iberian Peninsula, mainly the tradition of the New Christians, people of Jewish origin converted to Catholicism, in a mixture with indigenous and African peoples, forming a unique culture, still different from anything else in the country, making the Northeast a true Nation within a Nation.
