Elderly form a significant part of our population and a considerable proportion of them live in old age homes. The main reasons of the elderly living in old age homes are people have started in believing in “Nuclear family” rather than combined or joint. They have started moving in the old age for various reasons. Society and community have a great role to play in order to fulfill the dreams of the elderly. The general public, especially the younger generation should be sensitized of the phenomenon of ageing and the issues of elderly. More and more involvement of the institutions, family members, community leaders and more than that active involvement of the elderly themselves may solve many problems related to ageing.
