I had to leave this campsite… then THIS showed up! Stokes Inlet, WA

With no ocean breeze and rising temperatures, it quickly became one of the toughest camping conditions I’ve experienced. But just when I thought the trip was over, an incredible wildlife moment unfolded right at my campsite — a close encounter with a heath monitor (goanna). Watching this native Australian lizard up close was a powerful reminder that even when things don’t go to plan, nature always has something to offer.
