MBK packt aus #1188 - 1:35 M51A2 5-Ton Dump Gun Truck (AFV Club 35351)

The history of gun trucks dates back to World War II and is still common practice today. Some of these vehicles could easily be used in a "Mad Max" movie without any further modifications. To compensate for the lack of armored vehicles, civilian (usually heavy) trucks were converted with appropriate armament and often improvised additional armor. The British used them for homeland and airfield defense, while others used them to make their artillery and anti-aircraft guns mobile. The armament ranged from machine guns and light anti-aircraft guns to heavy artillery, and the armor consisted of wooden beams, sandbags, or steel plates from scrapyards or dismantled armored vehicles. AFV Club already offers modelers gun trucks from the Vietnam War with .50 caliber quad gun and an attached M113 chassis, and is now releasing another version based on its dump truck. Christian shares the details of the brand-new kit, whose release date hadn't been confirmed during filming. 35351 in the shop: coming soon
