Maspion 16" Industrial Exhaust Fan

My old 1980's CKE exhaust fan randomly threw a heated fit, and refused to run the other day while I was dusting some old parts. Which is why I decided to retire it, and get this fan as a replacement. What you see on your screen is a Maspion light duty industrial exhaust fan, model MV-3401 NEX in grey. It's one of the cheapest new 16" metal exhaust fan in the market, 2nd only to Sekai's 16" shuttered exhaust fan, which has a lower build quality, and airflow. This fan is priced at around Rp. 540.000, or 37 USD. It has the 4 P blades normally seen in standard//light duty industrial exhaust fans size 16" and up. Coupled with the 4 motor brackets, this fan makes a sound that is similar to other P bladed industrial exhaust fans, which is a loud, low pitched rumble. It seems like Maspion cheaped out on their production line, only using 1 set of machines to produce both their shuttered, and unshuttered exhaust fans, which is why the frame on my fan has an extension for non existent shutters. I had to remove the frame, and mount it backwards on the motor brackets in order to make it fit on my window. I don't think this will be a huge problem on construction sites, but for me, it's a slight annoyance as the now backwards frame box the blades in, and that ruins the airflow, plus it makes a bit more noise. Airflow is a lot better than the fan it replaces, which is already starting to rust out. Power consumption is also lower than the CKE. The longevity is not yet known as both the shuttered, and unshuttered offerings are pretty unpopular, and I haven't been able to source reports about these fans. But for now, I think it's a great fan, and a great market competitor, especially for the price. Made in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia.
