New Automated Lockdown System
We're excited to introduce a brand-new tool to enhance the safety of students and staff throughout our schools. This Automated Lockdown System is a proactive approach by the district to ensure we have the latest technology necessary to respond to a crisis, should it happen. While it is our hope that we never have to use this new system, job number one will always be ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Hitting these “lockdown buttons” will immediately place an auto-call to 911, alerting first responders to the location of the alarm. Rather than taking necessary seconds or minutes to call the main office, police, or an SRO from a school or cell phone, a simple push of the button will do it all for you instantaneously. It's meant to remove the “human element” of activating a lockdown situation, while giving everyone in the building, including students, the judgment and permission to sound the alarm during a real emergency.
