The wave of protests by residents of Wonokerto Village, Leksono District, Wonosobo Regency, continues to grow. Residents are demanding that the Wonokerto Village Head, Deny Setya Wibowo, immediately resign from his current position. Residents are furious over alleged serious violations, ranging from embezzlement of village assets to misappropriation of aid funds, committed by the Wonokerto Village Head. Since morning, residents belonging to the United Wonokerto Alliance have been besieging the local village office on Wednesday (August 20, 2025). The protest lasted until late afternoon. The village office fence was covered with banners bearing statements of protest against the alleged misappropriation by the Wonokerto Village Head. The Coordinator of the United Wonokerto Alliance, Sugeng Rahayu, emphasized that residents can no longer accept the current village head's leadership.
