England faced Norway in the quarter-finals of the **2026 FIFA World Cup**, but inside Mexico City’s Zócalo Fan Fest, it felt like the whole of Mexico was supporting Haaland. After the dramatic Mexico vs England match at the Estadio Azteca, I headed into the heart of Mexico City for another unforgettable World Cup experience. This time, I was supporting England while surrounded by thousands of Mexican fans who wanted to see us eliminated. Before kick-off, I walked around the Fan Fest asking people who they thought would win. I found hundreds of Norway shirts, Mexican Vikings, Haaland fans and even a real Norwegian with a Mexican family — but almost nobody believed England would make it through. We experienced every goal, controversial decision and nerve-racking moment together as England vs Norway went right down to the wire. Norway played an incredible match, but Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and England eventually secured their place in the World Cup semi-finals. Beyond the action on the pitch, this was one of the most impressive World Cup atmospheres I have ever experienced: Mexico City’s historic Zócalo completely packed, the Metropolitan Cathedral towering behind the giant screen and thousands of fans coming together for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
