HORTENSJA GIRLANDOWA I INNE - KORONKOWE I TE PEŁNE - CO ZROBIĆ BY ZDROWO ROSŁY
In this video, you'll learn how to choose the right hydrangea for your garden and how to care for it—how to fertilize it without damaging it. I'll also add that I have a few ideas (and experience) for overwintering plants in pots outdoors. Regarding the garland hybrid hydrangea, Runaway Bride, there's conflicting information about its hardiness. The label states -15°C (-5°F), but on the website dedicated to this variety, I've seen -30°C (-86°F). I've read on British and American forums that "Runaway Bride" plants are often and successfully overwintered in pots, but our climate is colder than in California or the UK. My experience suggests that pot size is crucial. The larger the pot, the greater the chance of survival. In any case, if possible, place the hydrangea under cover, in a secluded spot (balcony, terrace, greenhouse). Make sure rainwater doesn't collect in the saucer to prevent the hydrangea from rotting. I place the pots on a saucer filled with expanded clay, so the bottom of the pot rests on rocks. You can place the pot in a burlap bag or cardboard box, and cover the plant with a thick layer of pine bark mulch. I bought some straw for mulching tomatoes and I think I'll use it in the fall :-). It's extremely important not to plant or place hydrangea pots close to hot building walls. In early spring, this can be fatal – the wall gets very hot, the hydrangea stays warm, and frost arrives at night. These conditions are the most difficult for our plants. Most plants freeze not in December or January, but at the turn of February and March. This is when plants, especially evergreens, are thirsty for water because they have been enduring drought conditions and suddenly the weather warms up, hardening off the plant. When frost strikes, and it will, the plants freeze. Cold winds are very dangerous, which is why gardeners put up screens for their garden hydrangeas. Screens prevent the hydrangea from overheating and "suffocating" when the weather warms up, while still providing shelter from the freezing wind. #hydrangea #hydrangea #runawaybride #hydrangeamacrophyla #gardenhydrangea #sambucus #blacklilac #lilac #forestplants #flowers #perennials #shrubs #garden #chickpea #dahlias #fertilizers #pots #geraniums #supertunia #irises #bulbs #hornwort #geranium #speedwell #carnation
