In this video, our DC partners share why the work of the Community Safety Blueprint matters. They set the scene on public safety in Washington, DC, describe the challenges communities face when crisis and behavioral health calls flow through systems not built for them, and walk through the core recommendations from the Blueprint. The DC Community Safety Blueprint lays out a vision for a Community Safety Department that meets people in crisis with the right response at the right time. It builds on the strengths of DC's existing crisis services and reimagines how the city can deliver care, safety, and dignity to every resident.
