I'm learning new software and trying out some new techniques, so there'll be a bit of a learning curve. Shownotes: There was no hello letter, no thank you letter, no instructions at all included inside the box or in the packages. Some context would have been helpful when assessing some of the products. Only instructions I've found so far are for day 6 Testing Out the Actual Art Supplies (minus the paint puck) V/O: DS Tubes- King Royal Blue is very pretty, quite similar to Vertiver Blue. I'm not huge on the iridescents, and my tube of Iridescent Vibrant Raspberry kinda exploded DS Let's Make Art Collab: Rhodonite GEnuine is a weird choice because it's one of the ones that just doesn't reconstitute well from dried half pans or dots. Mayan Blue Gen is another one that's really struggling to reactivate and is another strange choice for a dried-out dot card. Neutral tint is a neat inclusion, I LOVE neutral tints, and rarely see them included in collaboration palettes. The rag isn't as absorbent as I'm used to with Vivas The Angled wash is rather large for this swatchoff and for the dotcard. As a fan of Shizen, I'm not really into this handmade paper, but I also haven't had a chance to do like, a real painting on it yet. It's not terrible, I'm just not really a fan of watercolor papers with a linen texture to it- that's a personal thing. It's interesting to try out other people's curated palettes- you can kinda start to get into their head and get an idea of how they use those colors and where. This is a different palette from what I use, but I think, in general, it's got some quite serviceable colors, particularly if you work fresh from the tube, where they can be best appreciated. I'm going to let these base swatches dry and do a masstone swatch on top. Note: these kind of handmade papers can take FOREVER to dry. No instructs ever came for Day 12, and I haven't received the bonus tutorial.
