Chartres - Vingt minutes de reportages sur la Ville de Chartres

Chartres Twenty Minutes of Reports on the City of Chartres Several TF1 crews filmed in Chartres in 2013 to create a fairly comprehensive overview of the city, following the Claire Chazal news broadcast. Chartres, a city of art and history, will be the central theme of a series of reports broadcast on TF1 this Sunday as part of the "Zoom on" segment, immediately after the Claire Chazal news. This unexpected promotion during prime time is especially welcome since TF1 went all out: several crews crisscrossed the city for twenty minutes of airtime. "It's great for everyone who works for Chartres" "It's fantastic!" commented Mylène Rousseau, from the City's promotion department, who oversaw this filming project with other partners, such as the tourist office, the archaeology department, and the parks and gardens department. “It’s huge, and it’s great for everyone who works for Chartres,” adds Amélie Peschard, communications officer at the tourist office. The program will have three main segments: the first dedicated to the cathedral and Chartres en Lumières (Chartres in Lights); the second focusing on the economy, including the business parks, the Cosmetic Valley, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Guerlain company; and finally, a tour of the city, passing by the Maison Picassiette, the media library, the Saint-Martin-au-Val archaeological site, as well as the city parks, the Place Billard market with its Chartres pâté, and the kitchens of the Grand Monarque restaurant. A nearly comprehensive overview, then, that will allow millions of viewers to see the city of Chartres. Don’t miss it! Chartres is located in north-central France, southwest of Paris. The city is known for its imposing Notre-Dame Cathedral. This Gothic-style church, completed in 1220, boasts two immense spires, flying buttresses, Romanesque sculptures, a labyrinth on the floor, and detailed rose windows. It is particularly distinguished by its stained-glass windows in shades of blue. The nearby International Stained Glass Centre offers workshops and exhibitions on the art of stained glass.
