Musica: perchè e per chi? | Mattia Veggo | TEDxCastelfrancoVeneto

Is it possible to imagine a world where children go to their ordinary public school with a backpack on one shoulder and a musical instrument case on the other? This dream has been a reality for years in the town of Campolongo Maggiore (Venice), which, with only ten thousand inhabitants, has three orchestras and approximately one thousand children and young people engaged in musical activities. Because musical education and the opportunity to play in an orchestra are invaluable tools for developing important skills and values. Mattia was introduced to the world of music at the age of six and was fortunate to grow up within the musical and social community of the "Diego Valeri" youth orchestra, the Veneto region's hub for the Italian youth and children's choir and orchestra system. Today, he has a diploma in horn and continues to collaborate with the system, sharing his great passion with many new young musicians as a teacher and conductor. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
