The Doors -'Fillmore East, (N.Y.C. 68)'
The Fillmore East was rock promoter Bill Graham's rock venue on Second Avenue near East 6th Street in the Lower East Side neighborhood, now called the East Village neighborhood of the borough of Manhattan of New York City. IT WAS ONLY OPEN FOR 3 years, 3 months, and 19 days, but in that short time the Fillmore East made an indelible mark on New York’s rock scene in the 1960s. Housed in a former Yiddish theater, the concert hall sold out performances by greats like The Doors,Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers,Joni Mitchell, The Grateful Dead, and many others..(Copyright Disclaimer: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship and research.
