Stevensweert is a historic fortified town in Central Limburg, situated on the Island in the Meuse between the Grensmaas, the Oude Maas, and the Julian Canal. The village was developed into a fortress by the Spaniards in 1633, featuring a characteristic heptagonal layout that remains clearly visible today. Surrounding Stevensweert lies the Molenplas, a former gravel extraction area that has developed into a Natura 2000 nature reserve with rich flora, fauna, and remarkable archaeological finds. In Ohé en Laak stands the Neo-Gothic St. Anne's Chapel from 1896, a national monument with a long history.
