Makinde Demands Probe After Oyo School Rescue

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has called for an independent examination of the abduction of pupils and teachers from Ahoro-Esinle and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area after their safe return and reunion with their families. The governor paid tribute to victims who lost their lives during the incident, including teachers Mr Joel Adesiyan, Deacon John Olaleye, and Mr Michael Oyedokun, as well as security personnel and members of the Oyo State Amotekun Corps who died during the crisis. Governor Makinde says the state government will strengthen security measures around communities bordering the Old Oyo National Park, improve intelligence gathering and work with security agencies to prevent criminal groups from exploiting vulnerable areas.
