In Erzurum, where snowfall and cold weather have affected the landscape, a horseback safari by women in a snow-covered forest produced colorful images. The women, dressed in colorful traditional clothing, galloped their horses across the snowy terrain, were captured from the air by a drone. The female archers of the Kızıl Elma Traditional Sports and Mounted Archery Club on the Erzurum Atatürk University campus didn't shoot arrows this time; they enjoyed the snow instead. Having prepared their horses and taken them out of the stable, the women mounted their horses in their special attire and headed to the snow-covered forest in front of the club. The women, following club President Ayşe Melek Okuyucu in a single file, created picturesque scenes. The women were captured by a drone as they galloped their horses through the sunny, white and green hues of the university campus. Okuyucu, President of the Kızıl Elma Traditional Sports and Mounted Archery Club, stated that their goal is to introduce traditional sports to young people and children. Okuyucu said, "We want to preserve our traditions and culture as much as we can. In the winter months, we want to enjoy the Erzurum landscape, which reflects our traditional culture. Even though it's a little cold, the beauty and the joy we experience outweigh it. We have fun with our horses and go on safaris in the beautiful nature of our beautiful country. Those who want to join us can become members of our club after receiving some training and gaining confidence." Zeynep Koçhan (19), who said she has been an archer for three years and a horseback rider for two, said, "It's a wonderful feeling to represent our history and past. We go on safaris, then we do our training. The first thing we do every morning is groom the horses. We clean them, saddle them, and then we all go on safari together. We have a great time and a wonderful time. Of course, since we practice traditional archery, we wear traditional clothing." University student Selenay Atasever (20), who said she experiences the past when she visits the club, said, "When we come here, we experience and keep our past alive. We ride horses, and it's very good for us spiritually." "Horses are animals that our ancestors respected throughout our history. We happily ride them. We practice mounted archery and shoot arrows from a horse. It's also good for our souls. Our environment is also suitable for safaris. We ride horses through the woods.
