This is a report from Toyama Municipal Baseball Stadium Alpen Stadium, the venue for the 2026 All-Star Game. Its official name is Toyama Municipal Baseball Stadium Alpen Stadium, and it opened in 1992. It was the first baseball stadium in the Hokuriku region to have a fully artificial turf field, and the first 30,000-seat baseball stadium on the Sea of ​​Japan side. I've visited this stadium several times before, but this time my purpose was to see the view with the Tateyama mountain range in the background, which is arguably the stadium's greatest attraction! This view is dependent on the weather and air conditions, so it's not something you often get to see, but I finally got to witness it! Furthermore, thanks to the kindness of the stadium staff, I was given a special tour of the stands, and was able to see behind the scenes, which are usually off-limits. Personally, it's my favorite stadium in Japan among all the stadiums I've visited. This view, integrated with the magnificent nature, is something you can't easily experience anywhere else. This year, the All-Star Game will be held here for the first time in 30 years.
