During World War II, the Nazis engineered a chilling eugenics program known as Lebensborn, designed to breed the so-called Master Race. Under Heinrich Himmler’s supervision, thousands of children were born in secret facilities, raised as wards of the Reich, and stripped of their true identities. Their parents—a select group of SS officers and women from occupied countries—participated willingly, driven by love, ideology, or coercion. After the fall of the Third Reich, many of these children were abandoned, shunned, and left to uncover painful truths about their origins.
