Glyph-Sides Moonberry (Celeste Mods)

00:00 - PB Progression 04:02 - Deathless Run Campaign: https://gamebanana.com/mods/150453 Aaaaaand that's another mildly difficult grind done with. Did this for The Ancient Scripts stamp, as I was already planning on going for this berry at some point. Does mean that I went from an exhausting Tier 5 to an ALSO exhausting Tier 8 without any breaks, but that's just what I felt like doing, apparently (I had Glyph enabled already, and since this was essentially the sendoff for this whole campaign, I decided I wanted to get it over with once and for all). Despite being for a moonberry, the grind's pretty much a golden, since it consists of doing all the Glyph-Sides in a row without dying (minus Void-B side, which I thank every deity ever for affording me such an act of forgiveness), with Void-A being the last one. You can do the chapters in any order you want otherwise. I have... thoughts on this challenge... which you can read below, as per usual, alongside stats. Be warned, though, they're not glowing. As for what's next, I actually picked up Solaris FCG again during this, so I'll try to stream that sometime soon. Outside of that, there's a few Zescent silvers I want for Summer Stamps, which I'll tend to in my spare time. The description went for a fair bit more before, but Youtube decided to select everything when I wanted to delete a small portion of text, so you've been spared such drivel this time. Anyway, here's the stats and (long) opinion. See you for either SJ, Zescent silvers, or the stream if the stars align (get it, because Solaris is in space? I'm funny sometimes, trust) Stats: Date Achieved: 13/06/2026 Tier: 8 (8.7) Time: 14:05:07 Enjoyment: 4.2/10 Opinion: I hate this berry. Void B-Side was my least favorite golden before this grind, mostly because it's engineered to be extremely demotivating for me, as I tend to struggle a fair bit with misdashes (y'know, classic analog issues). So, what about a fairly long map, where all you do is a bunch of diagonals for wavedashes and red bubbles? ...Yeah, it wasn't fun, and when the grind was over, I was so numb from all of the painful deaths that I had legit barely any reaction when collecting the golden, I just felt relieved I didn't have to do that shit again. Well, guess what. This moonberry is basically Void-B Side again, but now there are eight extra (non-void thankfully) checkpoints to deal with, and the Void sections are spread over the whole challenge, so you have to be on guard at all times. Granted, I may have made it seem like the other checkpoints were no trouble. That is very much not true: Spring in particular has quite a few awkward rooms before its Void part. And besides, all of them still feature mainly wavedashing and wallbouncing galore as its core gameplay, so all of them are chokable by default. At least you have some rooms that don't feature any diagonals for a change, with visuals that are actually vibrant and pleasant to look at for more than 3 minutes. The progression in sessions, especially towards the end, was always the same: a really good run among the first attempts, and then a bunch of nothing for the next hours. Then again, I say "hours"... but the truth is that most sessions were an hour and a half at most, because I just couldn't bear to keep pushing on when it felt that I was making no progress. It really felt like I had to force myself to continue with the session after the first run that passed two/three chapters. The worst of the nothing-deaths part of the session was feeling that I had basically explored all options as far as strats went. Since the gameplay of these maps is so minimalist, you don't really have a lot to work with. Want to avoid an awkward wavedash? Well, uh... just try to land as far back on the block as possible and do an extended hyper. But if that doesn't work or you don't like it, you've run out of options 95% of the time. This marks my final achievement within the Glyph campaign, and although I wish it could've been a fond farewell, I instead find myself grateful that I don't have a reason to replay it ever again. It's unfortunate I feel this way, as I truly did enjoy Glyph FCG, as well as the non-void Glyph Sides goldens to a lesser extent. But that's just how these final moments ended up playing out, I suppose. For now, I can safely say that I enjoyed this even less than Void-B Side, and that it felt harder than Glyph FCG.
