Wainwright's Coast to Coast Full Adventure - Bad Weather, Near Miss Accident & Stunning Scenery
This is the long form version of the Wainwright's iconic Coast to Coast Walk – now officially England's newest National Trail in 2026! Watch my full 190-mile adventure from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay in this complete compilation. In 2022 I tackled this epic journey in 3 stages due to a serious near-miss accident that could have been much worse. Over 12 challenging days I experienced everything the route had to offer: breathtaking scenery, wild camping, dramatic Lake District weather, and real dangers that every hiker should know about. 🗺️ Route Breakdown: • Stage 1: St Bees to Grasmere • Stage 2: Grasmere to Danby Wiske • Stage 3: Danby Wiske to Robin Hood's Bay Highlights include wild camping at Dent Summit and staying at Black Sail Hostel, aborting a camp in a fierce storm and sleeping in a toilet block for safety, bedding down in the entrance of Honister YHA, plus various B&Bs along the way. This was, without doubt, the biggest hiking adventure of my life so far. I'm incredibly thankful I survived to tell the tale, but I also want to honestly warn others about the potential dangers – especially in the Lake District during bad weather. Proper preparation, weather awareness, and knowing when to adapt your plans can make all the difference. Whether you're planning your own Coast to Coast National Trail walk, looking for inspiration, or just love raw British hiking adventures, this video shows the reality of a long-distance trail – the highs, the lows, and everything in between. 👍 If you enjoyed this, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE to Day Tripper Adventures, and hit the bell for more adventure content! 0:00 St Day 1 - Travel by Train to St Bees then hike to Dent 07:20 Dent Wild Camp 11:06 Day 2 - Dent to Black Sail YHA 22:34 Black Sail Wild Camp and Storm 34:18 Day 3 - Black Sail to Honiston YHA 49:38 Day 4 - Honiston YHA to Grasmere 1:06:20 Day 5 - Grasmere to Shapp 1:26:44 Day 6 - Shapp to Orton 1:28:54 Day 7 - Orton to Kirby Stephen 1:34:41 Day 8 - Kirby Stephen to Keld 1:46:07 Day 9 - Keld to Richmond 1:52:00 Day 10 - Richmond to Danby Wisk 2:00:39 Day 11- Danby Wisk to Ingleby Cross 2:07:40 Day 12 - Ingleby Cross to Blakey Ridge 2:20:40 Day 13 Blakey Ridge to Egton Bridge Horse Shoe Hotel 2:25:31 Day 14 - Egton Bridge to Robin Hoods Bay #CoastToCoast #WainwrightCoastToCoast #NationalTrail #LakeDistrictHiking #LongDistanceWalk #UKHiking #HikingAdventure
