Jah Watchmen blow a clarion call over heavy one-drop riddims, thunderous Nyabinghi drums and deep analog basslines that shake the earth like a warning drum. Horns rise like trumpets at the gates of Zion Zion Zion, answered by skanking guitars, echo-laden dubwise breakdowns, and choral chants that invoke Rastafari Rastafari Rastafari judgment on Babylon Babylon Babylon. The vocals are raw and prophetic — part warning, part prayer — calling the righteous to stand firm while the system crumbles, in the same spirit as contemporary sessions like Prophet Zion’s Nyabinghi Call to Jah , the prophetic stance of Songs for the Watchmen by Ras Gideon Tafari , and the sacred, tape-saturated warmth of Jah Kadosh Ensemble’s Mount Zion Prophesy (1978) .
