The "Insights into the Film Archive" showcases selected original film material from the extensive film archive holdings of the LWL Media Center for Westphalia in 3-4 minutes. The film sources, covering a wide range of topics and decades, are impressive historical documents and provide diverse insights into the history of the Westphalia region and the everyday lives of the people living there. Professional recordings, as well as amateur films from Westphalia-Lippe, date back to the 1920s. Amateur film material in particular allows a seemingly unobstructed view of people's lives and conveys a close connection to their everyday lives, but also requires a thorough assessment. The "Insights into the Film Archive" sessions are therefore introduced by experts from the film archive, who present the film sources in more detail. They provide brief, concise background information on the time of creation and the nature of the material, and introduce the respective filmmakers.
