While the city's history of exploitation and its beautifully constructed, clean streets were quite charming, I witnessed the stark contrast between the exploited people living in poverty and misery just 100 meters away. Although Senegal seems more developed than Mauritania, the poverty here is more striking and glaringly obvious. It felt like I traveled both forward and backward in time. Enjoy watching!
