Introduction to Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Heart Research - Webinar

In this webinar, you will gain an introduction to Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in research and discover how you can get started on your own involvement journey. Through an introductory presentation, we demystify the term clinical research and explore what PPI is, why it matters, and how it contributes to every stage of the research cycle—from research prioritisation and concept development to study delivery, dissemination, and implementation. We also showcase the involvement opportunities available through the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and the BHF CRC. You will then hear from Wendy Davis and Rashmi Kumar, experienced Patient Representatives, and Dr Ann Cheng, a clinical researcher with a passion for community engagement. Together, they discuss their experiences of becoming involved in research, the importance of collaborative working, how to access opportunities, and answer questions from the audience.
