Top 10 Mistakes New Players Make in EVE Online

It might surprise you, but the top 10 mistakes I see and hear new players making have nothing to do with bad ship fitting, flying the wrong ships for a particular task, getting scammed, or being oblivious to gankers. Those are all skills, and anyone can learn a skill. The mistakes I see new players making are choices; poor attitudes, pre-conceived expectations, inflexibility, lack of willingness to adapt, refusal to work with others or try new play styles, ungratefulness, and disengagement from the awesome EVE community. In my mind these choices - more than what to learn or where to start - ultimately doom a player's chances of staying with the game.
