Introduction to Porosity and Permeability concepts, Petrophysics Lecture 1
Objectives : Petrophysical concepts: Relations between Porosity and Permeability Be able to recognize and classify rock types. Clastics (Sandstones) Carbonates (Limestone, Chalk, dolstones) and Be familiar with the porosity and permeability characteristics of these rocks. Be familiar with the concepts of primary (depositional) and secondary (post depositional) porosity. Be familiar with the factors which affect porosity. In particular, the shapes, arrangements, and distributions of grain particles and the effect of cementation, vugs, and fractures on porosity Be familiar with the correlative relations for porosity and permeability Find more at: www.fanarco.net Visit our facebook page : / fanarco.net Follow us on Twitter : / fanarconet Geology Geomechanics Geocheical Geothermal Georeferencing GIS well oil gas water petroleum hydrocarbon deep depth map pore pressure overpressure reservoir FANARCO stress strain formation deformation alter elastic plastic petroleum hydrocarbon earth pressure temperature MATLAB programming
